The Arabic Translation Management Committee of the International Standardisation Organisation held its second meeting in Libya in the period 12-14/2/2008. The meeting was attended be representatives from the standardisation institutions in the following Arabic countries and organisations: Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Libyan Arab Jamahyria, Syria, Sudan, Egypt, the Technical Secretary of the Arabic Translation Management Committee and the Standardisation Organisation for Gulf Cooperation Council.

Issue related to the Arabic translation of the International standards were discussed during the three days of the meeting and a three year plan was established to cover the period of 2008-2010 to translate ISO standards in the fields of quality, environment and conformity assessment.
